HYDROS is PROCEPT BioRobotics' AI-enabled surgical robot for Aquablation therapy, which removes prostate tissue in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia using a heat-free, ultrasound-guided waterjet. FDA-cleared in August 2024 as the successor to AquaBeam (cleared 2017), it is commercially available in the US, launched internationally in March 2026, and drove more than 13,100 US procedures in Q2 2026 alone.

Unlike the general-purpose soft-tissue platforms, HYDROS is a single-procedure specialist, and that focus is its strength: a defined reimbursement pathway, strengthening European guideline support and a razor-and-blade model built on ~$3,550 single-use handpieces. At a reported ~$495K system price it is far cheaper than multiport robots, making it accessible to urology programs and ASCs. The obvious caveat is concentration risk: its fortunes ride on one indication, BPH.
